Sean 'Diddy' Combs' key to Miami to be 'rescinded' following sex trafficking charge

P Diddy's key to Miami Beach is reportedly being rescinded following the rapper's sex trafficking charge.

The Bad Boy millionaire, 54, is currently languishing in the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, where he is awaiting trial. The musician denies all charges, but was denied his bail request.

Several months ago, Diddy was asked to return the key to New York after a video of him abusing singer, Cassie Ventura, was leaked - and now it appears that Miami is following suit.

The dad-of-six was given an honorary key to Miami Beach in 2015 by the former mayor, Philip Levine, but now the city wants it back following the I'll Be Missing You star's arrest.

Miami city officials are said to be in final negotiations to rescind the key imminently, however, the exact day the change will be finalised has not yet been confirmed due to Hurricane Milton, reports TMZ. The storm is expected to hit Florida on Wednesday, and insiders told the outlet that's why the rescission has been delayed.

Miami Beach has given keys to a whole host of A-listers, including Diddy's ex, Jennifer Lopez. In the modern era, the Key to the City is a symbol of civic recognition and gratitude reserved for individuals whose service to the public and the common good rises to the highest level of achievement.

The news from Florida comes shortly after Combs returned the Key to the City to New York City in June after Mayor Eric Adams requested it back in a letter.

In his letter, he asked for the key to be rescinded after the video showing Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend in hotel surveillance footage was released.

The mayor stated that he stands with survivors of domestic abuse. He also noted that the Key to the City is awarded to model citizens and said that Combs no longer met the criteria for selection.

The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, was arrested last month and faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Since his incarceration, a number of other lawsuits have been alleged against him, and it's reported a hotline set up by attorney Tony Buzbee received 12,000 calls in just 24 hours regarding claims against the star.

In a bombshell press conference, the straight-talking Texan said people would be "shocked" by those allegedly connected to Diddy and the claims, but made clear he would not reveal their identities until the allegations had been "corroborated".
