Friends talk of shock and heartbreak over Sarah Cunningham's sudden death after vanishing

Tributes have poured in for Sarah Cunningham after a body was found today, with friends describing her as “warm and talented”.

Ms Cunningham disappeared in Camden, London, during the early hours of Saturday after she was last seen leaving an apartment block on Jamestown Road near Camden Lock. But tragically Met Police today issued an update saying the body of a woman had been found on the tracks at Chalk Farm tube station, they said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Many people have taken to social media to express their sadness. One person wrote on Facebook: “Rest in peace Sarah Cunningham. Nottingham has lost an incredibly talented and heart warming woman x. My condolences to her family x.” Another said: “Completely shocked and heartbroken to learn about Sarah Cunningham. We knew each other since we were about 6. She was always such a warm, silly, positive, funny and a fantastically talented person. She had so much life ahead of her. Sending love and support to Sarah's family.”

There were many similar comments with one person saying “she has left a big hole in everyone’s heart” and another wrote: “She was a real sunshine person”. The 31-year-old artist was spotted at 2.30 am on Saturday morning, her brother said in a post on X, formerly Twitter . In a heartbreaking appeal on Saturday afternoon he asked for information on his sister’s whereabouts.

He said: "My sister Sarah Cunningham has been missing since 2.30am in Camden. Last seen leaving apartment building on Jamestown Road. She was wearing a black outfit. If you have any information please let me or the police know. She has been officially reported as missing."

Met Police confirmed officers have been involved in trying to find Sarah, and made an appeal for information of their own on Sunday. Camden police posted on X, saying: "Have you seen Sarah? Sarah, 31, was last seen at about 3am on Saturday, November 2 on Jamestown Road, Camden.”

In an update today the force confirmed her body had been found. It said: "At around 01.11hrs on Monday, 4 November emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Chalk Farm Underground Station. While we await formal identification, Sarah's family have been informed of this development. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time. Officers from the Met are working with colleagues in the British Transport Police to look into the circumstances. The death is being treated as unexpected but at this time it is not thought to be suspicious."
