Strictly Come Dancing week 5 leaderboard as celebs battle to avoid dance off

Strictly Come Dancing has reached week five with the remaining 12 celebrities taking on new routines in a bid to impress both judges and viewers.

by · The Mirror

Following Nick Knowles' departure from Strictly Come Dancing last week, the heat was on as the celebrities tried to avoid the dreaded dance-off.

Currently Wynne Evans, Paul Merson and Dr Punam Krishan are the favourites to face elimination. Opera singer Wynne was a 20/1 chance when betting opened, but bookmakers BetMGM have had to cut his price all the way down to 9/2 and he is now the third favourite to dance for the last time on Sunday evening.

Paul is again the favourite at 10/11 with Punam, who was bottom of last week’s leaderboard, a 13/4 shot.

UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar, said: “Paul Merson might be the favourite to leave Strictly this weekend but Wynne Evans certainly isn’t without a chance of leaving. He looked a lively outsider a couple of weeks ago in the outright betting but the news this week certainly hasn’t helped his chances and he’s been very well-backed to exit on Sunday night."

With another week over, let's take a look at this week's scores and the leaderboard...

Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe

Montell and Johannes performed a Couple’s Choice to Skeleton Move by KG, Zanda Zakuza this week.

Fans claimed Pete was 'cursed' after learning he and Jowita would be dancing the Rumba to Don’t Look Back In Anger by Oasis.

Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu

He was in the dance off last week but Shayne and Nancy are hoping their American Smooth to Get Here by Sam Smith has impressed voters.
