3 NFL teams Bryce Young could join with Carolina Panthers future in doubt
Quarterback Bryce Young was benched by the Carolina Panthers on Monday - and it's believed the 2023 No. 1 overall pick is open to being traded to another team in the NFL
by Matthew Neschis · The MirrorBryce Young, the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, is believed to be open to leaving the team following his recent benching.
On Monday, Panthers' head coach Dave Canales announced that veteran quarterback Andy Dalton would be starting Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, relegating Young to the bench. The 23-year-old had a disappointing start to the season, completing only 31 of 56 passes for 245 yards, with no touchdowns and three interceptions.
Young admitted on Thursday that he was taken aback by Canales' decision. Regarding his future in the NFL, the 2023 first overall pick seems willing to consider leaving the team that drafted him. According to ESPN, the quarterback is 'open to anything' - such as a trade.

However, despite Young's struggles, Canales and his team have no intention of trading him. "That's not something we're really considering," the head coach said on Wednesday. "We have a great situation with our quarterbacks right now... We love where we're at and we're all hands on deck. We're focused on playing the Raiders this week."
That being said, several teams in need of a quarterback would likely be interested in acquiring Young if he becomes available. Here are three potential destinations:
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are struggling at quarterback, with backup Skylar Thompson filling in for Tua Tagovailoa, who is unavailable after a third concussion in two years. Tagovailoa's future is uncertain, and despite calls for him to retire, he has stated that he has no plans to do so.
Young could be an immediate solution at quarterback, taking over as the starter while Tagovailoa is sidelined, and potentially becoming a long-term part of Miami's plans if Tagovailoa decides to step away from football.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams have a history of giving struggling quarterbacks a second chance, having acquired Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo in the past two years. Young could be the latest project for head coach Sean McVay to take on.
Matthew Stafford is currently the Rams' first-choice quarterback, and as long as he stays healthy, he won't be giving up the role anytime soon. If Young were to join the Rams, he would have the chance to learn from one of the best in the position, as well as from Garoppolo, a seasoned player with a history of success.
Tennessee Titans
Will Levis' poor decision-making has drawn criticism from Titans head coach Brian Callahan, who made no effort to hide his frustration after the quarterback made two reckless mistakes against the New York Jets in Week 2. Following the game, the 40-year-old described Levis' play as "dumb," adding that he needed to improve his performance.
It's unclear how much longer the Titans will tolerate Levis' mistakes if they continue to result in losses. With a new management team in place, Tennessee might consider replacing the 25 year old with Young, another quarterback from the 2023 draft class.
