Man Utd told to immediately sack Erik ten Hag as replacement named - 'He's had his time'
Sky Sports pundit Jamie O'Hara feels that Erik ten Hag's time at Manchester United is up and has questioned why the club gave the Dutchman a contract extension in the summer
by Dan Marsh · The MirrorJamie O'Hara has called on Manchester United to put Erik ten Hag out of his misery following their latest disappointing defeat.
Ten Hag has overseen a poor start to the new season after narrowly keeping his job in the summer and the scrutiny is only likely to grow on the beleaguered Dutchman in the coming days following their 2-1 loss against West Ham.
The club hierarchy have reportedly sounded out other coaches in recent weeks, although they declined to make a change during the recent international break. But O'Hara now reckons enough is enough for Ten Hag, who should be sacked.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Tottenham midfielder said: "Nine games and in [United] are 14th in the table....come on, this is Man United.
"You can almost accept if they're ninth, you know, [being] in the top half and it hasn't quite happened. They've lost four games already this season - they've played nine."
When O'Hara was then asked what he'd do if he was calling the shots at Old Trafford, he replied: "I'd get rid of him; I would have gotten rid of him three months ago. I wouldn't have gave him a contract after the FA Cup, I'd have said, 'Thanks very much, you've finished with a trophy, go out on a high'.
"They should have got something from the game today but overall they've been poor. I've watched them in the Europa League as well and they've been poor."

O'Hara then went on to suggest that Ten Hag's No.2, Ruud van Nistelrooy, should be given the role after returning to Old Trafford in the summer. Members of the club hierarchy are also said to have held talks with former Barcelona boss Xavi in Spain recently.
O'Hara continued: "I'd give it to Van Nistelrooy. You've brought him in for a reason and that's because he's a manager there to potentially take over.
"I don't think it can get any worse - they're 14th in the table. How much worse can it get? For me, I would get rid of Ten Hag, give Van Nistelrooy a few weeks, see whats out there in the international break. Xavi's not a bad option. Ten Hag is not the future of Man United, I'm sorry. He's not good enough. He's had his time."
