Jeremy Clarkson reveals his future on Amazon's Clarkson's Farm after secret heart surgery
Jeremy Clarkson made an announcement about the Prime Video docuseries Clarkson's Farm on Tuesday night, following the news that he's returned to work after his heart surgery
by Joel Leaver, Charlotte McLaughlin, PA Senior Entertainment Reporter · The MirrorTV star Jeremy Clarkson has confirmed that Clarkson's Farm has been renewed for a fifth season.
The former Top Gear presenter, 64, has fronted three seasons of the Amazon Prime docuseries, which follows work on his farm Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, so far. A previously announced fourth season is yet to be released.
It's now been announced that there will be a fifth season of the show. Jeremy and Prime Video confirmed in a joint post shared on social media on Tuesday evening that the fifth season of Clarkson's Farm is now "officially in production".
As fireworks in the sky depict a '5,' Jeremy says in a clip shared in the post: "Over the years, bright lights in the sky have been used to make many important announcements, the birth of the baby Jesus, for example. But tonight, they're being used to make an announcement that's even bigger than that. Season Five of Clarkson's farm is coming."
The announcement comes following the news this week that Jeremy returned to work on the show recently after having undergone surgery on his heart. He's said to have been spotted filming alongside co-star Kaleb Cooper, 26, outside Jeremy's country pub the Farmer's Dog in the county. Footage published by the Sun shows Jeremy using a machine to move logs, for example, and he was heard sharing an update with a fan after his surgery in one clip, with him saying: "I'm fine, thank you."
As reported by PA, Clarkson's Farm has attracted huge attention to his Diddly Squat farm shop, which has seen queues in Chadlington, near Chipping Norton, as fans of the show descend on the rural location. Jeremy has opened more businesses including Hawkstone Brewery, and his pub in Asthall, near Burford, since it began in 2021.
Season four of the show is not expected until next year, and the most recent series covered Jeremy's battles with the local council, the impact of the 2022 drought, and his assistant Kaleb and land agent Charlie Ireland meeting former prime minister Rishi Sunak during a food producers meeting at Downing Street.
Last month, Jeremy announced that he had surgery on his heart in a column for the Sunday Times and revealed that his doctors had advised him to slow down following the procedure. The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host told the Sun that changing his lifestyle in the wake of the health issue had been "horrific".
Discussing the lead-up to the surgery, Jeremy said he had struggled using stairs on a holiday abroad and then a "sudden deterioration" began back at home. He ended up going to hospital, where he said they ruled out a heart attack. He said: "It seems that of the arteries feeding my heart with nourishing blood, one was completely blocked and the second of three was heading that way." Jeremy went on to have a stent, which has been described as a device that works to prevent future heart attacks by improving blood flow to the heart, fitted.
