Mohamed Al Fayed allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl after forcing her to have an intimate medical examination.

Kate - not her real name - said she had never had sex when the late Harrods owner attacked her in his Park Lane flat soon after she began working for him. Like many of his alleged victims, Kate said Al Fayed had previously required her to have an invasive examination by a company doctor for sexually transmitted diseases. She came forward in the wake of a BBC documentary alleging the tycoon, who died aged 94 last year, sexually assaulted and raped them.

Kate said she had recently started working at Harrods when Al Fayed summoned her to his apartment. Inside the Park Lane flat, "he tried to pressure me into having sex with him," Kate said. "He tried to be charming… but I kept saying no."

Kate says the late Harrods owner's mood darkened and began to threaten her. "He became angry, the doors were locked and I couldn’t get out. He raped me."

Kate said she had previously been the subject of an examination by one of Al Fayed's doctors. She said: "It was organised for me to see Dr Ann Coxon of Harley Street for a company medical," Kate says. "It was sold to me as a perk of working in the chairman’s office."

She said Dr Coxon asked to do an internal examination and to test for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. "I explained that I hadn’t become sexually active yet, and therefore it was unnecessary," she says, adding that her concerns were brushed off.

Dozens of women have come forward to accuse Al Fayed of sexual abuse and rape over decades. They are calling on the medical watchdog to investigate Coxon who continues to practice as a doctor. She said the test results were sent to Al Fayed who he discussed the intimate details of her medical exam and questioned her “purity”. She found the conversation confusing, intrusive and humiliating.

Dr Coxon remains registered with the General Medical Council, and a number of women say they plan to make a formal complaint about her to the regulator. Dr Coxon has not responded to requests for comment. The GMC described the allegations as “deeply concerning” and said it would take appropriate action if it found concerns about any doctor.
