Strictly Come Dancing fans were quick to complain just minutes into the third live show on Saturday, October 5.

The hit BBC One dance show returned once again for the Movie Week special. At the start of the episode, the show aired a Glitterball mystery in a fun sketch where everyone was a suspect.

However, viewers weren't a fan of the opening moments as they complained they wanted to watch the dancing and go straight into the show. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Just. Start. The. F**king. Show. Already. #Strictly", a different account put: "Too much messin abaaaht at the start already! #Strictly", another wrote: "They always have to start movie week with a cringe cheesy VT lol. It's basically a tradition at this point. #Strictly" while a different viewer added: "Not a fan of the opening bit… #Strictly!"

For the themed-episode, the professional dancers transformed into minions from the Despicable Me franchise with Kai Widdrington dressed as Gru, the grouchy former supervillain and protagonist of the film series, while the other professionals donned yellow bodysuits to mimic the tiny henchmen.

During the episode, the professional dancers and their celebrity partners will perform movie-inspired routines complete with costumes.

However, sadly, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk were due to perform the Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2 before Nick pulled out on Friday due to an injury. As per the Strictly rules, the pair will "receive a bye" through to next week’s show in the hope he has recovered.

It comes as last weekend Olympian Tom Dean and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova became the first pair to leave the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
