Inside Annie Kilner and Kyle Walker's 'final shot' at embattled marriage before 'collapse'

After trying to salvage her marriage to Kyle Walker, WAG Annie Kilner is now reportedly filing for divorce, with the estranged spouses understood to be no longer on speaking terms

Annie Kilner has reportedly filed for divorce from Kyle Walker - following one last valiant effort to make their marriage work.

The mother-of-four has had to deal with plenty of heartache over her footballer hubby, who fathered two love children with reality star Lauryn Goodman during 'brief flings'. And although Annie reportedly tried her best to get their flailing marriage back on track, it seems they're now set to part ways for good, with sources revealing that the former childhood sweethearts are no longer on speaking terms.

Having dealt with plenty of drama over the past few years, the former couple now looks set for another difficult chapter, with Annie, 32, allegedly getting her lawyers ready to fight for half of the Man City player's eyewatering £27 million fortune.

Back in January, things didn't look good for the couple after Annie booted Kyle out of their Cheshire family home following the revelation that he'd conceived a second child with Lauryn. By July however, tensions seemed to have cooled somewhat, and the couple were reported to be giving things another shot.

A source told Heat magazine at the time: "Annie is in a good place right now. She was dreading the Euros, but she got caught up with the excitement of it all.

"Despite everything that has happened, she loves watching Kyle play and seeing her kid's faces when they see him on the pitch. It also helped that the other WAGs have taken her under their wings, reminding her they have her back, and doing so much to make her feel happy and relaxed."

This source went on to allege that Annie was angry at Kyle for 'a long, long time and part of her will still never forgive him', she was "willing to give things with Kyle one final try". Although hurt by his flings with Lauryn, she reportedly still views Kyle as a fantastic dad, and knows how 'great things can be'.

However, although she was still keen on making things work at this point, Annie reportedly made sure to establish some ground rules and non-negotiables, making it crystal clear that if Kyle ever cheats again, 'she'd never forgive him'. With the ball very much in Kyle's court, Annie had allegedly been hoping for some meaningful change on his part and felt their relationship could still 'be worth trying for'.

Earlier this month, a spokesperson for Kyle and Annie told The Mirror: "Annie and Kyle are living together, working through their marital problems and trying to establish a new routine. They are both open to conversations around financial security for Annie and the boys and will always protect the children under any circumstance."

Despite all they've been through together, including multiple separations, Kyle was reportedly still shocked to learn that Annie wanted to end their embattled marriage once and for all.

Today, a source told The Sun: "Kyle was stunned when he got the papers. He's spoken to Annie about them and they are discussing the next steps. This doesn't necessarily mean they will divorce. She wants Kyle to know she's not messing about. But if this is a bluff, it may well back-fire."
