Viktor Gyokeres leaks Ruben Amorim's plans at Man Utd after Man City heroics
Ruben Amorim's final home game in charge of Sporting before he takes over at Manchester United saw them thrash Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League
by Matthew Cooper · The MirrorSporting star Viktor Gyokeres has confirmed that outgoing manager Ruben Amorim will be bringing a number of staff members with him to Manchester United.
Amorim has been announced as United's new manager, but he will not officially take charge until November 11. He has one more game left in charge of Sporting, a trip to Braga on November 10, while his final home game could not have gone much better.
Gyokeres was the star of the show as Sporting thrashed Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League. The former Coventry striker scored a hat-trick, while Maximiliano Araujo also found the back of the net.
The exact make-up of Amorim's backroom staff at United has yet to be confirmed, but reports have claimed he wants four coaches and a sports scientist to make the move to Manchester with him.
And when asked about Amorim's impending departure, Gyokeres confirmed that several Sporting staff members will also be leaving with him. "We will miss him a lot," Gyokeres told UEFA.
"We've done amazing things together. We will miss him and the other guys in the staff who will leave. We have to look forward and attack the next challenge ahead of us."
Reflecting on the match as a whole, he added: "It's always nice to score and even better to score a hat-trick. Most important was to win the game so it was a brilliant night for us.

"We knew it was going to be tough and we didn't start off well," Gyokeres added. "We knew they would give us space and we could have scored more than four to be fair. They could have scored more as well. You need to raise your level when you play better opponents. I tried to keep doing what I've been doing."
Amorim, meanwhile, attempted to play down the result after the game. "What I can tell you is that this [result] doesn't mean anything in particular - don't take anything from this," he said. "We cannot transport one reality to another. Manchester United cannot play the way we play and we will have to adapt.
"It's misleading, we were very lucky today, but the feeling with my players, the way they celebrate with the fans was very special. I take this with me but when I arrive to the Premier League it is a different world, different pressure. It will be fun, very fun, and I'm ready for the challenge."
