Katya Jones has issued a five-word verdict on Wynne Evans.

It comes after the Strictly Come Dancing stars found themselves embroiled in a scandal when some fans accused the Welsh opera singer of making the professional dancer feel uncomfortable. During Saturday night's live episode of the flagship BBC entertainment programme, Wynne, 52, placed his hand on Katya's waist, which sparked drama on social media.

However, Katya, 35, has continued to shut down the claims and insisted that it was an inside joke and she was in no way made to feel uncomfortable by Wynne's actions. During the incident, a stony-faced Katya appeared to brush away his hand as the pair stood side by side.

Now, Katya has taken to social media to gush over Wynne as they prepare to throw themselves into full Strictly mode, rehearsing for the upcoming episode on Saturday night. In view of her 249,000 followers on Instagram, Katya shared a snap of Wynne posing in front of snaps of each judge with all, minus Shirley Ballas, having a drawn on moustache to match his Go Compare character.

Each image of the judges also had the scores they gave to Katya and Wynne last weekend. Alongside a smiling Wynne, Katya penned: "I'm so proud of you @wynneevans," alongside a loved-up emoji. She added: "The sweetest welcome back to the rehearsal room." Both Katya and Wynne have been firm in their stance that this was simply a daft joke that went wrong, leading to widespread misinterpretation. And they've now opened up on BBC spin-off show It Takes Two, where Katya attempted to squash any rumours of a beef once and for all...

Taking a firm stance on the matter, she told host Fleur East that the idea that she was in any way offended "is total nonsense". She revealed: "The idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense, and those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. So hopefully this will be the end of it, and you just keep making me smile. I can't sit here watching this man being portrayed as someone he's not."

Wynne also said he had watched the moment back and he "could see how people may have misinterpreted it". This comes as it was revealed that the BBC will be taking 'no further action' after checking in on both Wynne and Katya, with the interactions confined to be 'silly jokes' that the pair had 'planned together'. A BBC source told the Mirror: "Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were silly jokes they had planned together and have apologised to anyone who may have misinterpreted them.

Katya and Wynne also cemented their friendship after being spotted sharing a kiss in the street.
