Gogglebox star Abbie Lynn supported by fans as she leaves the UK

Gogglebox star and 23-year-old hairdresser received an influx of supportive messages after sharing her recent departure from the UK, telling her Instagram followers that it was a "good idea"

Gogglebox's Abbie Lynn has been supported by fans as she's shared her recent departure from the UK.

Star of the Channel 4 TV show Abbie has jetted off to Spain, where she has been soaking up the sun while visiting some of Ibiza's top party spots. The 23-year-old is loved for her hilarious commentary on British telly, but away from the cameras, the trained hairdresser has enjoyed some downtime as she keeps fans updated on her latest Instagram posts.

As well as visiting the island's stunning Old Town, Abbie has been to iconic club Ushuaia, as well as Ibiza Rocks and the famous hangout Ocean Beach, where she and friend Sophia posed for snaps in co-ordinated cream outfits, paired with gold platforms. The star wrote: "Ocean Beach is always a good idea," as she and her pal stood in front of a leafy backdrop.

Fans wrote messages of support to the girls, with one commenting: "Gorgeous gorgeous girlies x," another added: "Absolutely gorgeous," while a third added: "Wow what absolute stunners you both are, enjoy."

When she's not filming for the show, which recently returned to our screens following a summer break, Abbie is quite the jetsetter, having already taken an "immaculate" birthday trip to Marbella with her mum and sister in April as well as a break to Croatia.

Meanwhile, as Gogglebox started again last night, another family on the show made a rare mention of one of their missing relatives, stunning viewers. While fans were getting stuck in to the new series, some were caught off guard when the Siddiquis mentioned their rarely-seen mum, who prefers to stay out of the limelight.

Although we never get to see the family's matriarch, one of the sons showed how close they are when he laughed that he bought some tuppeware for his mum, leaving her ecstatic. One fan noticed the sweet comment, commenting: "That's the first time I've ever heard them mention their Mum."

The family have been stars on the show since it first aired in 2013, making them the only current cast members who have been there from the start. Opening up to Radio Times last year, Sid, 78, said: "When it started, we didn't think it would last even a year. It’s crept up on us as well. We’ve been doing this for 10 years. You know, you have to tell yourself to wake up and say it is weird!"

Bassit, the youngest brother, was the one who brought Gogglebox to his family, when one of his friends who was working on the new progamme recommended them. He said: "We did a bit of an audition, where people came round with a camera and some flash cards – images of Boris Johnson, Simon Cowell… and they said, 'Right, just say the first thing that comes into your mind.' Whatever dynamic we had seemed to suit the show, because they asked us if we wanted to be part of it. And they’ve kept on asking us." But mum, Nasreen, prefers to stay away from the spotlight.

Googlebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
