BBC Strictly Come Dancing star JB Gill's wife endured harrowing ordeal in middle of night
JB Gill's wife Chloe Tangney may be living the high life now, watching her partner impress the judges on Strictly, but the dancer was once targeted in a terrifying ordeal after criminals raided her home
by Liam Gilliver · The MirrorJB Gill and wife Chloe Tangney haven't always had a life full of glitz and glam.
The JLS star, 37, wowed judges last week with his elegant routine to When I Need You by Leo Sayer, scoring an impressive 31 points and ranking at the top of the leaderboard with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Amy Dowden - who had taken a hiatus from the show following her breast cancer treatment.
JB will undoubtedly be asking for tips from his wife, who has been a professional dancer since the age of 18. In fact, the pair met while Chloe was a back-dancer for JB's pop group JLS, which she describes as the 'best day of her life'.
She has also appeared ITV's Dance, Dance, Dance in 2017. But, her life was turned upside down after a terrifying ordeal that left her shaken, and saw JB rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning.
Back in 2021, the couple's £1.5 million family farm home was targeted by four criminals who raided the luxury property, located in Kent, England. Robbers intimidated Chloe, threatening her with a knife before fleeing with a slew of valuables. JB was also sprayed in the face by one of the hugs, and ended up being sent to hospital but sustained no lasting injuries.
The pair decided to keep details of the harrowing incident out of the public eye at then time, in a bid to help keep their children safe. They have since upped security at their grand property and broken their silence on the horrifying robbery. "We are taking each day as it comes," JB told reporters. "We just really want to protect our children. Our family is very important to us and it underpins everything that we do."

The couple tied the knot back in January 2014 after four years of being together. Since then, they have welcomed their son, Ace, and daughter, Chiara Sapphire. Aside from JB's stint on the ballroom, where he has already amassed a cult following, the couple live a more relaxed, rural life and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty on their 19-acre estate.
"There's always that affinity in island nations of self-sufficiency and growing your own, understanding and knowledge of knowing where your food comes from," JB said, explaining how his dream of owning a farm stems from childhood memories in Antigua. The two now feature on JB's show Down on the Farm.
