The race for the White House has entered its final days as Kamala Harris battles Donald Trump to become the next President of the United States, with polls opening tomorrow

After months on the road, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are days away from discovering who will replace Joe Biden as President of the United States.

Millions across America will cast their votes on Tuesday with a number of swing states set to sway the decision either way. Final polling shows Harris has renewed strength in critical states like North Carolina and Georgia, while Trump has eaten into her lead in Pennsylvania and is in front in Arizona.

It is currently too close a race to call and Trump has primed supporters for “a rigged election”. His latest explosive comments come amid fears America could once again descend into violence Trump ramps up claims of his election battle against Kamala Harris.

Should Harris win, Trump and his team have set the stage for disbelief, if not outrage. Like four years ago, it has been claimed Trump will declare victory before all votes are counted. Such a move was central to his bid to remain in power after his 2020 defeat and fuelled the deadly violence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

In recent weeks, he has falsely stated that voting by non-citizens is widespread, that overseas and military ballots lack verification, and accused election officials of using early voting to commit fraud.

US Election enters final week

After months of speeches, visiting crucial swing states and time on the road, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are now just days away from discovering who will be the next president of the United States.

The election culminates on Tuesday, November 5, and the two candidates are currently too close to call with polls putting them neck and neck in the race for the White House.

It is possible however Democrat Harris - the current Vice President of the United States - and Republican Trump, who is seeking his second term in office after losing to Joe Biden in 2020, could have to wait several days before a winner is finally declared.

The swing states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin) are key to the election, with both candidates pushing hard for votes in all seven. Polling shows Harris ahead, albeit by a small margin.

The race is on.
