by Chiara Fiorillo · The MirrorThe official profile of one of the creators of the iconic 1960s series Thunderbirds has led tributes to voice actor David Graham after he died at the age of 99.
Anderson Entertainment and Jamie Anderson, the son of legendary TV and film producer Gerry Anderson, shared the news of David's passing on his late father's official social media account. Jamie, whose father created the science fiction television series alongside his wife Sylvia Anderson, described the late star as "a wonderful friend" who will be missed "dearly".
Sharing the news of David's passing on X, formerly called Twitter, the managers of Gerry's profile wrote: "We're incredibly sad to confirm the passing of the legendary David Graham. The voice Parker, Gordon Tracy, Brains and so many more. David was always a wonderful friend to us here at Anderson Entertainment. We will miss you dearly, David. Our thoughts are with David's friends and family."
The actor was the voice of Aloysius Parker, the butler and chauffeur in Thunderbirds, and also appeared in its film sequels. To today's children, he was best known for his voice as Grandpa Pig on kid's animation Peppa Pig. The character, married to Granny Pig, is the father of Mummy Pig and Aunt Dotty and was called "Papa Ig" by his grandson George.
In an interview with The Mirror in 2015, David said he put all his energy when doing Grandpa Pig's voice. He said: "The voice has been very steady over the years which has been marvellous because it pays. I do act while I'm doing the voice. I put all my energy in. Just because it's a cartoon or puppet doesn’t mean you don't take it seriously. I take it as seriously as working at the National. It was lovely working with Rosamund. We did our voices together. Parker and Lady Penelope's is a relationship which is important. The ex-villain trying to keep on the straight and narrow."
After David died, fans of his shows also penned tributes, with one user writing: "Sad to see such a legendary voice go. He brought so much joy to kids and families everywhere. Rest in peace, David." Another user said: "Ahhh he was a legend! RIP bro," while a third penned: "Sad to hear about the passing of David Graham, the iconic voice behind Parker in *Thunderbirds* and Grandpa Pig in *Peppa Pig*. His talent brought joy to generations of viewers, and his legacy will live on through his beloved characters. Rest in peace, legend."
Thunderbirds creator David Anderson passed away on December 26, 2012. His wife Sylvia died on March 15, 2016.
