Emmerdale Ruby star's forgotten role in racy show fans 'can’t believe was allowed on TV'

Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly is a firm favourite playing Ruby Fox-Miligan - but before her soap fame actress Beth once appeared in a rather saucy TV show

Emmerdale fans have been floored after spotting Beth Cordingly in a rather raunchy TV show on Netflix.

Actress Beth plays Ruby Fox-Miligan on the ITV soap - making her debut earlier this year. As the feisty wife of Caleb (William Ash), Ruby has already caused plenty of drama in the Dales.

Not only has she been determined to bring Kim Tate (Claire King) down, but Ruby also found herself close to death recently after getting caught in the barn fire, caused by Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb).

Prior to her Emmerdale stint, actress Beth was no stranger to appearing on screens. Over the years, she has starred in the likes of Doctors, EastEnders and Casualty.

But it was her role in a raunchy television series from the 2000s that has got some people talking. In 2007, Beth starred in one episode of ITV’s Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.

The show, followed the life of sex worker Hannah Baxter also known as Belle de Jour, played by Billie Piper. Secret Diary Of A Call Gir ran for four series and was jam-packed with racy moments.

And during episode five of its first series, Beth made a shock appearance. Beth played a fellow call girl Naomi who has a threesome with Billie’s character and one of their clients.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl originally aired on ITV - but this year it was added to UK Netflix. And fans couldn’t get over how saucy the show was, with one person writing on X at the time: “Secret Diary of a Call Girl is on Netflix and upon rewatching it, I can't believe this was a proper show on ITV”.

Reacting to Beth’s stint on the saucy show one person shared their shock on Facebook. They wrote: “Just discovered Ruby is in episode 5 of Netflix Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper raunchy lol.” Someone else replied: “I thought it was her! Can’t watch her on Emmerdale the same way…”

Away from the soap, Beth is loved-up with her actor beau, Ian Kelsey. Ian even appeared on Emmerdale once over 20 years ago, playing Dave Glover from 1994 until he was killed off in 1997.

Speaking about her relationship, Beth previously told The Mirror: "I am very in love with Ian and very happy. I think it really does work him being an actor too. He has been so fantastic.

"There is that thing as an actor where you are always taken away from home. But he totally gets it. He knows a lot of the crew and cast and so it’s lovely to be able to share what I’ve been up to, knowing he understands."
