After the UK version's success from 2001 to 2003, The Office has blossomed into a global phenomenon with spin-offs in Canada, France, Sweden and Poland.

Undoubtedly, the most popular spin-off is the American version, featuring Steve Carrell as the overly friendly boss, Michael Scott.

Despite the change in location and cast, the format remains consistent.

Each series of The Office is set in a mundane office environment, complete with an eager employer, budding romance and the ever-present threat of redundancies.

How you can watch The Office Australia in the UK

The Australian version of The Office is set to premiere on Friday, October 18, on Amazon Prime Video, where it will be accessible in most regions, including the UK.

Globally, there's a lot of anticipation about how this show will stack up against other spin-offs.

Set in Australia, The Office Australia will revolve around a branch of the packaging company Flinley Craddick, headed by boss Hannah Howard (portrayed by Felicity Ward).

When her branch is threatened with closure and her staff set to work from home, she pulls out all the stops to keep them coming into the office.

Howard is played by actress and comedian Ward, who is recognised for her live performances but has also featured in The Inbetweeners 2, Wakefield and Time Bandits on Apple TV+.

The Office Australia premieres on Friday, October 18, on Amazon Prime Video.
