A body has been discovered in the search for missing Sarah Cunningham - a gifted artist who vanished after reportedly 'getting into a dark Vauxhall with a man'.

The 31-year-old was last seen at approximately 3 am on Saturday, November 2 on Jamestown Road, in Camden, north London. A frantic search ensued, with officers releasing a physical description of the slim, 5ft 3inch painter, alongside a photograph of her wearing the outfit she'd been wearing - a black top, black shirt and black Converse sneakers.

Sadly, Sarah's family has now been informed after officers were called to Chalk Farm underground station at 1.11 am, where a body was found on the tracks. Formal identification has yet to take place. Here, the Mirror looks at the tragic final hours leading up to Sarah's disappearance - and the desperate attempts made to find her.

In a statement shared via social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Met Police shared the following message: "Have you seen Sarah? Sarah, 31, was last seen at about 3 am on Sat 2 Nov on Jamestown Road, Camden, NW1. Anyone who sees her or has any information is asked to call 101 and give ref: CAD 2349/02Nov."

A number of people came forward to find the painter, including Reclaim These Streets co-founder Jamie Klingler, who shared: "She was last seen in Camden around 3 am getting into a dark Vauxhall with a male with long dark hair and heading to Islington." She added: 'Were you the driver? Did you see them? Did you see them get out of the vehicle in Islington?'

However, after investigating this sighting, Sky News has since reported that the woman in question was not Sarah. Sarah's loved ones also used social media as a way to spread the word about her disappearance, which acquaintance and playwright Lance SA Nielson described as 'out of character'.

Taking to Facebook, Sarah's boyfriend Jack Brown posted: "My girlfriend Sarah Cunningham has been missing in Camden since 2:30am this morning [Saturday], she was last seen leaving an apartment building on Jamestown Road.

"Police have been notified and she has been reported as officially missing. If anyone has any information on her whereabouts or has seen or heard anything then please let myself or the police know."

Meanwhile, in another post, her brother, Anthony Cunningham, wrote: "My sister Sarah Cunningham has been missing since 0230am [on Saturday] in Camden. Last seen leaving apartment building on Jamestown Road. She was wearing a black outfit. If you have any information please let me or the police know. she has been officially reported as missing."

A successful artist, Sarah's work is known in artistic communities across the globe, and was this summer exhibited at the Lisson Gallery in LA. In an update given today, police confirmed a body had been found, stating: "At around 01.11hrs on Monday, 4 November emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Chalk Farm Underground Station.

"While we await formal identification, Sarah's family have been informed of this development. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time. Officers from the Met are working with colleagues in the British Transport Police to look into the circumstances. The death is being treated as unexpected but at this time it is not thought to be suspicious."
