Weather maps show the exact date the Brits will face a 30-hour-long chill - with an Arctic blast predicted to sweep across the UK.

The new graphics from WXCharts show the UK will brace for a blend of snow, rain and chilly winds from 6pm on November 6 until midnight on November 8. Temperatures could fall to as low as -2C in some parts of the UK, according to the maps.

Despite there being highs of 4C, other parts of the country will plunge below 0C. The affected areas include much of Scotland, Wales and as far south as Devon. The worst affected area is Scotland where 3cm of snowfall an hour is expected, reports the Express. In Devon there will be a lighter snowfall of about 0.3cm per hour.

Maps show the UK is set for more chilly conditions

The wind will have an icy chill to it with temperatures expected to fall below zero. In Wales' Ceredigion the wind chill be hit lows of -4C. Other regions that will see a bitter chill include Herefordshire, Lincolnshire and Cumbria. The Cairngorms National Park, in Scotland, will feel temperatures dropping to a spine tingling -10C.

The chill is thanks to a jet stream from the Arctic and will feed into an already unsettled picture for the UK. According to the Met Office a weakening band of showery rain will move across England and Wales. There will be patchy rain across Northern Ireland with bright intervals seen elsewhere. It will be windy - although somewhat mild - into far southwest England.

In its outlook for Saturday through to Monday, the Met Office said: "Wet and rather windy at times across northern areas this weekend. Drier further south with overnight fog, then bright spells. Rain moving southeastwards Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures near average."

Some parts of the UK might see snowfall

The Met Office long range weather forecast from October 28 to November 6 said there could be "wintry" conditions in higher areas in the north. It added: "Initially breezy with large amounts of cloud and some outbreaks of rain, especially in northern and western areas, with generally drier conditions farther southeast.

"However, high pressure is likely to build more strongly across the southern half of the UK by midweek, tending to restrict any wet and windy weather to the far northwest. That said, areas of cloud trapped underneath this high pressure may still produce drizzle in places, with also an increased chance of frost and fog.

"Later next week and into the following weekend there may be a tendency for high pressure to retreat, bringing an increased chance of breezier conditions and some rain at times, possibly wintry on northern high ground. Temperatures near or above average initially, but possibly turning colder later, especially in the north."
