Red Bull are looking to add a fifth club to their portfolio after tempting Jurgen Klopp back into football.

The German had been out of work since leaving Liverpool in the summer. He called time on nine years at Anfield and underlined his desire for some rest, dismissing the idea he would return to the dugout. Red Bull have managed to turn his head, bringing him back in a new role.

Klopp has signed a long-term deal to become the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull - and now the Austrian company are eyeing up the purchase of French side Paris FC, who play in Ligue 2 and remain very much in the shadows of PSG.

L'Equipe understands that Red Bull and the Arnault family have entered negotiations to buy the club. Paris FC's current president Pierre Ferracci is weighing up his next move and Red Bull have expressed their interest in taking over with an agreement alongside the Arnault family, who own Louis Vuitton.

If a deal is struck then Ferracci is expected to maintain a 30 percent stake with Red Bull taking 15 percent and the Arnault family becoming new majority shareholders with roughly 60 per cent.

Red Bull's biggest and most successful side is RB Leipzig, who have been near the top of the Bundesliga for several years. They've become Champions League regulars, making the semi-finals of the tournament back in 2020. Red Bull's ownership of the club has angered a host of fans in Germany.

Most notably those at Borussia Dortmund, where Klopp first made his name. The 57-year-old won two league titles at the club and retained hero status, but has attracted an angry reaction after teaming up with Red Bull. Some supporters have claimed the relationship between them and Klopp is over.

Red Bull Salzburg, where Erling Haaland first made his name, are another club associated with the energy drink. MLS outfit the New York Red Bulls also don the company's name.

Klopp has said on his new role, which he will begin on January 1: “After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this. The role may have changed but my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is has not.”
