Princess Eugenie has heartwarmingly revealed how her two young sons August and Ernest feel about welcoming a new baby cousin in the not too distant future, following the announcement that Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice is pregnant with her second child.

Beatrice first revealed the news of her growing family earlier this month, with her delighted sister having offered her warmest congratulations in a post shared on social media. Yet now, just days after revealing the exciting news to the world, Eugenie has opened up about how her own little ones are adjusting to the news.

Speaking to HELLO!, Eugenie candidly admitted her own children, who are aged three and one, aren’t yet aware that they have a new baby cousin on the way, but did reveal that she thinks August may cotton on to the change in the not too distant future.

I haven't got that far yet," says the Princess. "I think maybe Augie will see the tummy growing and realise but no, they don't get it. Just yet.”

While her own children may not be aware of just how significant a moment a new baby in the family will be, one person who is over the moon is Eugenie and Beatrice’s mother Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.

"Mum's funny, because she loves her grandchildren so much but you can just see this pride for her two daughters,” explained Eugenie. “She's like 'my babies!' When you become a granny you have the pride for the baby and your baby, you know? She's got a double whammy there.”

Buckingham Palace first revealed the news of Princess Beatrice’s pregnancy on October 1, when it released a statement which said: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna.”

"His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”

Alongside the announcement, two heartwarming images were shared by the couple, which showed their growing family as they prepared to add yet another addition to their expanding brood.
