Strictly Come Dancing fans left 'sad' as judges make change to Halloween week

Fright night in the Strictly ballroom has officially arrived as the remaining 11 celebs transform to give judges spine-tingling performances but fans were left saying the same thing

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left 'sad' after the judges failed to use ghost shaped paddles while scoring the celebrities on Saturday evening (October 26).

As week six of the competition heats up, the ballroom turned spooky for Halloween and the contestants will be hoping to avoid following in the footsteps of Paul Merson, who was voted out last week.

The ex-Arsenal star's elimination followed Nick Knowles, Toyah Willcox, and Tom Dean who have also been unsuccessful in their bid to lift the Glitterball trophy.

With Halloween Week performances inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this year, each couple aimed to dazzle with their latest routines to secure a spot in week seven.

But unlike previous years, judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke failed to hold up paddles shaped like ghosts for the spooky themed live show.

The small change to the judges scoring on Halloween Week didn't go unnoticed as fans took to social media to point out the 'mistake', with one person writing on X: "Where are the ghost paddles that the judges use in Halloween week #Strictly."

A second stated: "#strictly where are the ghost score paddles?", followed by a sad face. Another asked: "Where are the ghost-shaped scoring paddles?! #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

"Where are the ghost shaped scoring paddles?! #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing", added another.

There are currently 11 celebrity couples left all hoping to lift the all important Glitterball trophy. Bookmakers have made Dr Punam Krishan and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez the favourites to be eliminated from the show this week.

They received enough votes from viewers to avoid the dreaded dance-off last Sunday after finishing second bottom in the judges’ leader board. Olympian Sam Quek and partner Nikita Kuzmin could join them in the dance-off after their odds of elimination were slashed from 33/1 to 7/2.

The Strictly Come Dancing live show airs every Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer with the results show following on Sunday
