BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks' update after ditching UK as 'secret code' with Jowita Przystal uncovered

Pete Wicks has been seen back in the UK after a whirlwind trip to Italy amid training for Strictly Come Dancing. The podcast host and reality star has been reunited with his dance partner Jowita Przystal after taking a day away from training for the BBC One dance contest.

Pete and Jowita were among the 15 new couples who performed their first routines of the series during week one of the 2024 competition last Saturday night (September 21).

During their first live show, the pair were seen dancing the paso doble to Breathe by electronic dance music band The Prodigy, for which they were given 17 points from the judges.

While their scores will carry over into their second live performance, all eyes are on what Pete and Jowita will do next after it was revealed they'd be performing an American Smooth to I Had Some Help by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen.

Taking to Instagram on Friday morning (September 27), Pete shared a snap of himself and Jowita as they posed for a mirror selfie in the training room. Former TOWIE star Pete could be seen sporting a cowboy hat as he posted the image alongside the Chris Stapleton track 'White Horse' and wrote:" One more sleep... @bbcstrictly."

It comes after Pete had to take a brief break from training as he was seen ditching the UK earlier this week. The 36-year-old was seen on Wednesday (September 25) attending the wedding of his friend and fellow reality star Vicky Pattison in Puglia, Italy, after she and her husband Ercan Ramadan officially tied the knot in Marylebone, London, in front of their friends and family last month.

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky previously revealed that Pete would be her ‘flower girl,’ and after being in attendance at her and Ercan's first wedding, the Strictly star revealed he was on wedding duty again, posting a reel of himself all suited and booted with the caption: "24 hours in Italy".

The podcaster has since posted an adorable tribute to Vicky, alongside a photo of the pair in which the bride looked stunning in her gorgeous white lace wedding dress while Pete was seen in a smart black tux and wore his long locks in a neat slicked back bun. "Couldn’t be more proud of you… @vickypattison," he gushed alongside the black and white photo, in which the two could be seen sharing a laugh, shared on Instagram.

He continued: "For 10 years you have been one of my best friends and biggest supporters. I am so blessed and lucky to call you a friend. You are a wonderful person and have always been there for me, my life is better with you in it. This is your day and you deserve it more than anyone. Congratulations."

Meanwhile, fans have been going wild for Pete and Jowita as it was revealed they have a 'secret code'. The dancing duo appeared quite comfortable as they sat closely on the Staying Relevant podcast sofa alongside Pete's best pal Sam Thompson.

In the new episode of the podcast, Jowita was seen wearing a yellow waistcoat and explaining her choice of attire, the dancer said. "You know why I put it on first of all," before asking him what nickname he had given her. Pete's initial guess, "little pocket rocket", was incorrect.

Jowita then confirmed that Pete had dubbed her his "little ray of sunshine" as she leaned her head on his shoulder. The Strictly star then told I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner Sam: "We've got a code. Sometimes we don't need to speak, we just look at each other and we know," leaving him with a prang of jealousy.
