Boost for Ruben Amorim and Ruud van Nistelrooy class - what we saw at Manchester United training
by Tyrone Marshall · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United were handed a major boost on Wednesday with Leny Yoro training with the first-team squad for the first time since he underwent surgery on a foot injury sustained in pre-season in July.
Yoro was one of three players returning to the fold ahead of the fixture against PAOK. Christian Eriksen and Antony are also back in training with Ruud van Nistelrooy's squad.
United are still looking for their first win in the Europa League, having drawn all three games against FC Twente, Porto, and Fenerbahce. They now have two home fixtures in a row, against the Greek outfit and then Bodo/Glimt.

Van Nistelrooy is also taking charge of his final two games as interim manager ahead of the arrival of Ruben Amorim next week. Here are some things we spotted in training this morning:
Yoro return
United have had to be patient with £52million signing Leny Yoro, with the centre-back needing surgery on a foot injury he picked up in his second pre-season appearance.
This was his first time back in full training, and he was given the familiar welcome back to the fold, having to run through a tunnel created by his teammates as they tried to slap him on the back.
There were loud cheers as Yoro ran the gauntlet before he settled back into the routine with a rondo. The teenager is unlikely to feature under Van Nistelrooy this week, but his return is a boost for Amorim, especially if he decides to stick with his back-three system. Yoro will likely become a regular starter if that is the case.
Van Nistelrooy involved
Van Nistelrooy has loved every minute of his stint in charge of United and he was out on the training pitches early as he waited for the players to appear.
He might be 48, but the former United striker still looks fit, and he couldn't resist the temptation to get involved, joining one of the rondo groups early in the session and then taking part in a keepy-uppy game with the same group.
You don't see many managers or head coaches getting quite so hands-on in training.
Rashford's test
Marcus Rashford was the first player out on the grass on Wednesday. He went through an individual programme lasting around 20 minutes before joining the main group.
Rashford was the first United player to be withdrawn against Chelsea and looked to be working on a few fitness checks outside while the rest of the squad were warming up in the gym.
It was clearly good news, as the academy graduate swiftly made his way over to join the rest of the squad when they arrived.
Coaching chatter
While the coaching staff waited for the players to come out, they stood around chatting on the Carrington pitches and might have wondered how many more sessions they had left here.
Amorim's coaching staff is only likely to be finalised after the weekend games, but he wants to bring with him a significant group from Sporting. It could be that Van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake and Andreas Georgson all find themselves surplus to requirements.
Darren Fletcher was first out, setting up the session and laying out cones. His role as a conduit between the first team and the academy could prove invaluable.
On a separate pitch, goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar was putting his players through their paces. United's goalkeepers have liked working with the innovative Ten Rouwelaar, but with Amorim set to bring his own goalkeeping coach with him, he could also be on his way out.
Kids called up
With injuries easing, there weren't as many youngsters involved in training on Wednesday and some of the regular faces from recent weeks were absent.
Defenders Daniel Armer and Jack Kingdon were the only youngsters in this session. Harry Amass, Jayce Fitzgerald, Jack Fletcher and Ethan Wheatley have all been part of the squad recently, but are set to feature in the UEFA Youth League tie with FK Zalgiris at Leigh Sports Village tonight.
