Andre Onana's face tells the story as awkward Erik ten Hag and Sir Alex Ferguson claim made

by · Manchester Evening News

Andre Onana's face painted a thousand words after a Manchester United supporter directly told him that the club need to sort out Erik ten Hag. United have made a dismal start to the season, winning just three of their 10 matches across all competitions.

Ten Hag, who guided United to a third-place finish in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup in his first season in charge, has been under increasing pressure over the last 12 months as United's form continued to dip. Despite winning the FA Cup last term, United finished eighth in the league and bottom of their Champions League group.

Having started this season in terrible form, Ten Hag has faced questions over his future at Old Trafford. United held a seven-hour meeting in London on Tuesday with Ten Hag's position a key talking point, but the former Ajax boss has appeared to have kept his job ahead of Saturday's game against Brentford.

But one United fan has instructed the club to sort their current predicament out. While on international duty, goalkeeper Onana, who has been one of United's standout performers this season, was surrounded by hundreds of supporters upon his arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.

As he was making his way through the crowd, Onana rolled down his window and got his phone out to the film the fans. And one, who said he was a United supporter, instructed that he is going to come over to England and Ten Hag is going to 'suffer'. Onana couldn't help but looked shellshocked with the comment, replying: "Oooo," while continuing to smile. It was added that the fan wanted United to sort out their manager and made a supportive comment in the direction of legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Onana and his Cameroon teammates arrived in Uganda to take on Kenya at the Mandela Stadium in another African Cup of Nations qualifier. The 28-year-old has been in excellent form this season and has kept four clean sheets in seven Premier League matches - no one has accumulated more.

Despite his up-turn in fortunes, Onana is insistent that supporters will soon see a more daring and decisive goalkeeper. "I know the country, I know the league, I know the city. I will take a lot of risks, like I used to do in the past, before I was here. You guys are going to see a different Andre now," he said.
