BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland 'walks out' on Dianne Buswell as they give honest update

Chris McCausland has admitted he needed to 'walk out' on Dianne Buswell during training for their next Strictly Come Dancing performance, with them hilariously retelling the story on social media.

The pair made it through to week six of of the BBC One dance contest after leaving viewers in tears with their moving ballroom number.

Last weekend, Chris and Dianne performed a beautiful waltz to the Liverpool anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, in a nod to Chris' beloved home city and football club, which left the judges having to compose themselves and those watching in bits.

But as they were voted through to another week in Strictly's 20th-anniversary series they have been forced to leave the waltz behind, much to Chris' dismay, and for the show's annual Halloween week will be taking on the Samba to to Stayin Alive’ by The Bee Gees.

And it doesn't sound like it's been easy to master, according to Chris and Dianne's latest social media update as part of their video series 'CHRIS DIAnneRIES'.

Taking to Instagram on Thurdsay (October 24), which is their last day in the rehearsal room before moving to Elstree Studios where they'll get a limited number of practices in the ballroom with the cameras, Dianne revealed they'd run their next rotuine 22 times - and she made notes throughout.

To begin with, the professional dancer jotted down notes after each three run throughs, first calling Chris' performance 'great' before moving up to 'terrific' while pointing out the things they were more focussed on in each.

But Chris appeared disappointed when Dianne went back to calling their practice 'great'. And things seemingly got a bit tense for the dancing duo as Dianne, 35, revealed one of her notes said that her comedian dance partner had told her he wishes she was 'on mute'.

Chris, 47, then explained: "So this is what happens. The Samba is very energetic and I have to have a little lie down just to catch my breathe back, just to recover, and she just talks at me constantly while I'm trying to take my brain off the dancing for a minute, have a little bit of me time. At one point, I had to walk away from you and you said, 'Chris, you're going the wrong direction,' and I said, 'No, I need some space. I just need some distance between my face and your voice."

But fans were quick to respond with excitement for their routine. @buswellsdaisy said: "Super excited for this dance!! i’m sure it’ll be amazing." @debilou464 wrote: "Love you guys, my favourites to win, always look forward to watching you both on a Saturday."
