BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say 'it's clear' as Shayne Ward observation causes concern

Strictly Come Dancing fans have made an observation about Shayne Ward - as some were concerned his dance wasn't understood during the Halloween special.

The actor and singer and his dance partner Nancy Xu were among the 11 remaining couples who appeared in the ballroom for week six of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (October 26) as fright night arrived at Elstree Studios.

They performed a dramatic paso doble to In The Hall Of The Mountain King by Grieg, in which Shayne donned a grey wig and period suit and Nancy wore a cream ruffled dress, before they secured them 31 points out of a possible 40.

But during the results show on Sunday night (October 27), Shayne and Nancy found themselves in the bottom-two for the second time this series while Dr Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez also found themselves under the dreaded red light of doom.

Both couples had to reprise their routines, with Punam and Gorka performing their spooky tango to Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics while dressed as pirates first before Shanye and Nancy took to the floor.

After both couples had danced a second time, Craig Revel Horwood, Motis Mabuse and Anton Du Beke decided to save Shayne and Nancy, automatically sending Punam and Gorka home. Head Judge Shirley Ballas also agreed and said she would have decided to save Shayne and Nancy.

Following the news of Shayne's stint in the dance-off, Strictly fans shared their concerns for the former X Factor winner, particularly after he came under fire for 'faffing' at the start of his routine with Nancy during the main show.

@MyGift1994 said: "It’s clear Shayne isn’t connecting to the audience at home so why have they kept him in another week over Punam" @JayHWarne commented: "Result isn't a shock. However, Wouldn't surprise me if Shayne gets eliminated next week or the week after."

@salyward commented: "I thought Shayne’s dance was fab. The fact that he didn’t start sooner wasn’t his fault, it was how the dance was choreographed. I think he’s taking the show seriously, but only because he’s a fan and he’s passionate about it. I don’t see the need for so many mean comments." @webbo9 added: "So Dr Punam bites the dust on Halloween week the Judges saving Shayne.
