John Fury has already told Anthony Joshua what he thinks of him ahead of Daniel Dubois fight

John Fury hasn't held back his thoughts about Anthony Joshua ahead of his IBF heavyweight clash this weekend.

This Saturday evening at Wembley Stadium, 'DDD' Daniel Dubois defends his title against the hard-hitting AJ, with high stakes as the victor could potentially face either Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury - hinging on what happens in their December rematch.

Fury was outpointed by Usyk in May, which led to the Ukrainian boxer claiming the undisputed championship in the over 200 lbs category. However, Usyk was then stripped of the IBF title for opting to have a return bout with Fury instead of facing the compulsory challenger Dubois.

Dubois was subsequently promoted from interim titleholder, and will now put his newly upgraded belt on the line against the formidable Joshua this Saturday. Despite the heated rivalry that's built up between AJ and the elder Fury's son, the two boxing titans have yet to cross paths in the ring.

And Fury has openly expressed both respect and admiration for his son's greatest adversary. Earlier this year, the pair met in Saudi Arabia during AJ's crossover fight with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou. The encounter, marked by a handshake on the red carpet, prompted Fury Senior to say: "I've always liked Anthony Joshua. I've never said anything wrong about him," reports the Mirror.

"He is a great fighter, Olympic gold medallist. He's done a lot for boxing, let's not forget that. And he's a good fighter, and he will be a world champion again. But I couldn't get over how big he was, the man is a unit. He's always been a nice guy, respectful man.

"He showed me respect. He was lovely. And it was heartfelt. I've got nothing but admiration and respect for Anthony Joshua. It was a great moment for me." Joshua expressed his mutual respect, noting: "I have nothing bad to say about John. John's an older guy.

"In my culture, it's about respecting your elders. That's how I've been raised - always respect your elders - and John is an elder man regardless. Some of the elders in my family they're not all nice men. Some of them are moody, they're grumpy, but we still have to say, 'yes uncle, no uncle', whatever, all that type of stuff. It's just part of our culture and John's an older guy and I respect him for that."

After defeating Ngannou with a stunning second-round knockout, further outshining Fury's previous outing against the former UFC heavyweight, Joshua reflected on a potential bout with either Fury or Usyk, telling Sky Sports: "If they want me they can come knocking at my door.

"I'm just gonna do my best each and every time, do you know what I'm saying? But if they want me they can come knocking at my door. I'll just get in there and do my best and go home. Nothing changes for me broski." Upon being queried about accepting a fight offer, Joshua retorted with a quick-fire: "Let's go."

Joshua, boasting a record of 28-3, knows he's got a tough challenge ahead this weekend if he wants to square off against the victor of Usyk and Fury II. He faces 21-2 Dubois, a fearsome contender with 20 career knockouts to his credit - with fireworks expected when the two go toe-to-toe.
