BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans demand 'jail' as they complain over same issue 'every week'

Strictly Come Dancing fans have jokingly demanded the judges 'go to jail' as they complained about spotting the same issues 'every week'.

The hit BBC One dance contest returned to screens on Saturday night (October 26) but it wasn't a normal week in the ballroom. It was fright night as the show's annual Halloween special got underway.

But who faced a trick and who was rewarded with a treat? Well, Miranda star Sarah Hadland and EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick jointly topped the leaderboard in week six of Strictly's 2024 series.

Actress Sarah and reigning Strictly champion Vito Coppola secured a score of 38 by impressing the judges with their heated Argentine tango to Ready Or Not by Fugees, which was filled with challenging lifts and graceful footwork.

Judges Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke both declared it the “dance of the night”, while Craig Revel Horwood noted Hadland had an issue with her first lift but he still thought it was “the most wonderful Argentine tango”.

Actor Jamie and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas picked up the same score for their playful American smooth to The Addams Family theme while dressed as brother and sister duo Wednesday and Pugsley Addams.

Head judge Shirley Ballas hailed it as “pure genius” and complimented how they moved across the floor while Revel Horwood thought it was “incredible”.

Also performing well on the night was Love Island star Tasha Ghouri who dazzled the judges with her ghoulish samba to I Like To Move It by Reel 2 Real while dressed as a Frankenstein-style monster, which landed a score of 37, the highest for a samba on Halloween week in the show’s history.

Meanwhile, Morning Live’s Dr Punam Krishan came joint bottom of the scoreboard alongside comedian Chris McCausland after her tango to Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics with professional Gorka Marquez.

The judges' scoring has again come under fire

Chris had earlier kicked off Halloween week with a lively samba to Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees. Dressed in a sparkly suit and frazzled wig, the stand-up grooved along the floor in between gravestones with his partner Dianne Buswell to pick up a score of 26.

But it was the scoring that once again come under fire - particular the points given to the male celebrities in the competition. @Evelynsmin said: "Every single man (except MAYBE Pete) has been overmarked this evening. I hate the judges omfg #strictly. @emzel87 wrote: "I like Jamie - but he is constantly being overmarked!! #Strictly."

@DrrewRya commented: "Sorry, Jamie was overmarked again #Strictly." @karlfun88 posted: "How does Wynne get overmarked every single week!? That salsa was awful - very messy and the little actual salsa there was, the technique was poor - and he got 8s!? #strictly."

@flickersuggs echoed: "wynne is getting so blatantly overmarked each week and it’s doing my absolute head in. that dance was easily his worst dance yet in my opinion and yet he got three 8’s????? i’m genuinely baffled #strictly." @gemmavictoria_ shared: "Wynne and Sam getting the same score? jail for these judges #strictly." @Evaatje59 added: "Sorry but JB was OVERMARKED #Strictly."
