Emmerdale star shocks fans with role in X-rated show they 'can't believe was allowed on TV'

Emmerdale viewers were taken aback after spotting actress Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby Fox-Miligan on the ITV soap, in a rather risque Netflix series.

Beth made her debut as the fiery wife of Caleb (William Ash) earlier this year and has already stirred up plenty of drama in the Dales.

Not only is she hell-bent on taking down Kim Tate (Claire King), but Ruby also recently had a near-death experience when she was trapped in a barn fire started by Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb).

Before joining Emmerdale, Beth was no stranger to the small screen, having appeared in popular shows like Doctors, EastEnders and Casualty. However, it's her role in a steamy 2000s TV series that has got tongues wagging.

In 2007, Beth featured in an episode of ITV's Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. The show, which followed the life of sex worker Hannah Baxter, also known as Belle de Jour, played by Billie Piper, ran for four series and was filled with provocative scenes.

In the fifth episode of the first series, Beth made a surprising appearance. She portrayed a fellow call girl named Naomi who participates in a threesome with Billie's character and one of their clients, reports the Mirror.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which originally aired on ITV, has recently found its way to UK Netflix and fans are fascinated with its bold content. Upon its addition to the streaming platform, one viewer exclaimed online: "Secret Diary of a Call Girl is on Netflix and upon rewatching it, I can't believe this was a proper show on ITV".

One bemused fan on Facebook commented on seeing actress Ruby from Emmerdale in the show: "Just discovered Ruby is in episode 5 of Netflix Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper raunchy lol."

Another person joined the conversation, noting: "I thought it was her! Can't watch her on Emmerdale the same way.."

Outside of the soap world, Beth enjoys a romantic life with her partner, fellow actor Ian Kelsey. Though most remember him for his role as Dave Glover on Emmerdale over two decades ago, which he played until the character's dramatic exit in 1997.

Beth has been open about her feelings for Ian, telling The Mirror some time ago: "I am very in love with Ian and very happy. I think it really does work him being an actor too. He has been so fantastic."

She appreciates the understanding they share due to their common profession, saying: "There is that thing as an actor where you are always taken away from home. But he totally gets it. He knows a lot of the crew and cast and so it's lovely to be able to share what I've been up to, knowing he understands."
