Holly Willoughby ignores Phillip Schofield's TV return as she sends 'please' message to fans

Holly Willoughby was seen ignoring Phillip Schofield's return to screens as she headed out to support a friend. The former This Morning star took to social media with an update on what she was up to on the same evening her former co-star marked his TV return.

Phillip is seen sharing his side of the story for the first time in the three-part series 'Phillip Schofield: Cast Away' which started on Monday night (September 30).

The Channel 5 programme sees the 62-year-old marooned on a tropical island off the coast of Madagascar with a handful of cameras for 10 days in what is his first appearance on TV since leaving ITV in May 2023 after he admitted to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague.

In the programme, Phillip says he believes he was unfairly treated by certain people amid his departure from ITV last year. He is also heard as saying about his lost broadcasting career: "I miss parts of being on TV, certainly. I miss most of it, if I’m honest, I miss most of it.

"But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss. You learn a lot about people, I don’t miss that. When you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really good reason to do it. It is inconceivable that I would quit. I don’t quit. I’m fired. But I never quit."

He also appears to mock the moment former co-host Holly brought up the subject of his departure on This Morning', as she opened the show, before her own exit in October the same year, with the question "Are you OK?" to viewers.

In the moment at the start of Cast Away, Phillip is seen having a family barbecue with his wife Stephanie Lowe and their daughters Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28, and saying: "If you’re OK, then we’re OK, and I’m OK... are you OK?"

But as Phillip appeared on the small screen, Holly was seen enjoying a night at the theatre. Taking to her Instagram Story, the 43-year-old shared a snap of the outside of the Theatre Royal Stratford East which is showing Abigail's Party for the next couple of weeks.

She then followed up the post to her 8.3 million followers by sharing a photo of herself and actress Tamzin Outhwaite who is playing Beverly in the production of Mike Leigh's comedy play.

Alongside the photo, she wrote: "@glamzin you are simply incredible... If you get the chance please go see this," before tagging her pal and including a link for people to grab their tickets.

It comes after Holly recently marked her own milestone. The Dancing on Ice host took to social media to reveal it had been three years since she launched her wellness brand, Wylde Moon, which is said to have come after Holly was inspired by 'sound baths' during her time in Australia in 2018 when she stepped in for Ant McPartlin to host hit reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! alongside Dec Donnelly.

Taking to Instagram with a string of new snaps, in which she could be seen beaming for the camera in a shimmering light pink mini dress while clutching balloons, Holly said: "Join our 3rd birthday celebrations with 20% off perfume, wax melts, diffusers and travel minis..."

She added: "Just wanted to say a huge thank you for having been such a special part of our journey. Here's to more years of connection and beautiful moments ahead."
