Erik ten Hag sack verdict delivered with shocking Manchester United U-turn

An overwhelming majority of Manchester United fans who took part in a recent survey have said they want Erik ten Hag to be sacked.

The Manchester Evening News created a survey on Ten Hag's future following the hammering against Tottenham last weekend and 14,300 readers responded with their opinion.

The survey provided readers with two options and asked whether they wanted Ten Hag to be given more time or whether they thought it was time for the Dutchman to be sacked.

We can reveal that 84 per cent of fans voted to sack Ten Hag and just 14 per cent are in favour of keeping him, which highlights a significant shift in opinion after the FA Cup final.

The majority of fans voted to keep Ten Hag in a survey following the stunning victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final but opinion in the fanbase has shifted drastically.

Ten Hag was heavily backed in the summer window and signed Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte, but United have won just three games in all competitions and defeat at Aston Villa this weekend might lead to his dismissal.

After FA Cup final success, 10,082 fans answered a survey on Ten Hag's future and 78 per cent said he deserved to stay, with just 13 per cent voting that needed to leave the club.

Although that special day at Wembley was just 132 days ago, there has been a huge shift in opinion among supporters on Ten Hag and he could be in the final days of his tenure.

International breaks are synonymous with managerial changes and United will take on Aston Villa, who beat Bayern Munich earlier in the week, away from home on Sunday afternoon.
