BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans concerned as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones 'disappear' from show

by · Manchester Evening News

Strictly Come Dancing fans were convinced Wynne Evans and Katya Jones had 'disappeared' from the show - again. Last week, viewers thought there was a lack of the couple on screen except for when they were performing.

After they made it through to week six of the BBC One dance contest, opera singer Wynne was interviewed on BBC Radio Wales alongside Katya, during which he said: "There was some people at home saying Wynne's disappeared from the Clauditorium.

"And there's all these conspiracy theories why I'm not in the Clauditorium. The reality was, I had to go an get my trousers redone because they were sticking to the sticky tape on the side. So I wasn't in the 'Clauditorium' for a little bit because I was being sewn into my costume downstairs."

So there could be a perfectly reasonable explanation as the why Strictly viewers struggled to spot Wynne and Katya alongside their fellow show stars on Saturday night (October 26) as the annual Halloween special took place.

@jjfabio asked: "Where's Katya and Wynne? #Strictly." @AndiRichards99 echoed: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show. #strictly."

Others, however, were concerned for the star as they worried he wasn't enjoying himself. The GoCompare advert star impressed the judges with a series of dramatic lifts and flips with his partner Katya to land a score of 31 for their salsa to Canned Heat by Jamiroquai.

Wynne and Katya during their latest routine

The pair, who previously apologised for a 'joke' that saw Jones move opera singer Evans’ hand from her waist during the show two weeks ago, donned red sparkly costumes and devil horns for the routine which saw Evans flip Jones over his head and twirling her in the air.

Anton Du Beke joked "you did not die so well done", before adding: "You are sunshine and entertainment every time you come to the floor, I look forward to watching you dance, it is always great."

But taking to social media, @TVqueertiques noted: "Wynne really doesn’t seem to be enjoying the show as much as he did #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing." @FlopsyPickle added: "I thought Wynne looked a bit like he was being dragged around a bit #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."
