This year, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) brings us a heartwarming short film, Arulini, Shining Star, capturing the journey of young singer Arulini Arumugam, who recently made her mark on the international stage.
Arulini's story is no ordinary tale. Starting with big dreams, she made a name for herself after winning an international singing competition.
But what makes this story truly special is the unwavering love and support of her mother, Dr Khasturi Ramalingam, who continues to be her pillar of strength every step of the way.
An interesting part of the film is how Thirukkural, a classical Tamil text of 1,330 verses, has been Arulini's guiding light from a young age
In the short film, whenever Arulini faces challenges, her mother shares wise words from Thirukkural, filled with lessons on ethics and morals. The film also shows how Dr Khasturi uses it to guide Arulini on staying resilient and positive, no matter what comes her way.
With boundless determination, coupled with her mother's love and encouragement, Arulini never gives up on her dream to become a renowned singer. While the journey wasn't without its challenges, the short film highlights how important family support helped Arulini get through tough times.
