Manchester City Boss, Pep Guardiola has reacted to Manchester United’s decision to sack manager Erik ten Hag.

The Spaniard had commiserated with the Dutchman who was shown the Old Trafford’s exit door on Monday.

Erik ten Hag was sacked by Manchester United on Monday, a day after he led the team to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in the Premier League.

Speaking ahead of Manchester City’s trip to London for their EFL Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, Guardiola sent best wishes to the former Ajax manager.

The Spaniard said he feels sorry for Ten Hag, and that the latter always represented Manchester United at the highest level in terms of behaviour.

“I’m so sorry for him. I have an incredible relationship, and I think he represents Man United at the highest level in terms of behaviour,” Guardiola told the press.

“I wish him all the best, he and his family, and he’s going to come back stronger, and he knows, I know, everybody knows that our job depends on results. When the results are not good enough, we are always on the verge of staying or being sacked,” he added.
