Jermaine Jenas on TV again two months after BBC sacking for lewd text messages

by · PlymouthLive

Jermaine Jenas was spotted at Arsenal's significant clash with Liverpool on Sunday, marking his first public television appearance since his BBC departure. The ex-Newcastle and England midfielder, aged 41, parted ways with the broadcaster in August amid controversy over inappropriate messages sent to female colleagues, subsequently maintaining a low profile.

However, Jenas took to Instagram last month to express gratitude towards his supporters and teased a potential comeback to broadcasting.

This weekend, it has been revealed that Jenas was present at Emirates Stadium, providing commentary for an international audience during the high-stakes Premier League match.

Post-retirement, Jenas smoothly transitioned into punditry, becoming a familiar face on BBC's Match of the Day and co-hosting The One Show. He was once considered a possible replacement for Gary Lineker as MOTD host until the BBC announced his exit.

A spokesperson for the corporation stated in August: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up", reports the Mirror.

In addition to his BBC roles, Jenas frequently contributed to TNT Sports' Premier League coverage, although he hasn't featured there since his BBC dismissal.

In a recent social media video, Jermaine Jenas hinted at new ventures on the horizon, expressing his enthusiasm for upcoming projects. He shared: "There's some exciting stuff that I've been working on. So hopefully you'll have that to look forward to very soon. And hopefully I'll be back just talking about what I love really, which is football. I've been living the life of those Spurs fans who've been up and down and up and down."

He continued, reflecting on football events he's been following: "Forest got a great result up at Anfield and have been playing well. So I've been watching but I'm looking forward to kind of getting back and just talking about what I love most. So last of all, thank you very much and, yeah, I'll see you soon."
