South West restaurants named in TripAdvisor's best of the best 2024 list

Only 10 UK restaurants have been crowned among the best in the world - and four are in the South West

The Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards' Best of the Best Restaurants 2024 have been announced, with ten UK restaurants making the cut, including some in the South West.

This year's awards introduced several new categories such as 'pet friendly restaurants' and 'sustainable restaurants'. Bath's Cappadocia Mediterranean Restaurant was listed at number 10 in the UK 'Casual Dining Category'.

Cappadocia, which opened its doors in 2019, is reportedly the only Turkish restaurant in Bath. It is renowned for its relaxed ambiance, stunning artwork and decor, and authentic Turkish cuisine, ranging from kebabs to casseroles. The restaurant also provides a takeaway service, contributing to its recognition in this category, reports SomersetLive.

In addition, the Cappadocia team expanded their business this year by opening a branch on Bristol's Baldwin Street in April. The two-storey establishment serves a variety of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, mirroring its sister site in Bath.

Three venues in Devon and Cornwall were also featured in the 'Date Night UK' category, including Fifty (Looe, Cornwall), Paul Ainsworth at No. 6 (Padstow, Cornwall), and Restaurant Kensington (Lynton, Exmoor National Park).

Over in Wales, The Really Wild Emporium in St. Davids (Pembrokeshire, Wales) and The Bank Restaurant (Barmouth, North Wales) also made the list.

The Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants, which is based on a year's worth of global review data, highlights the favourite dining spots of Tripadvisor reviewers.

The awards cover nine categories - Casual Dining, Date Night, Fine Dining, Hidden Gems, Outdoor, Pet-Friendly, Sustainable, Quick Bites and Vegan and Vegetarian.
