Actor-turned-politician Govinda was shot in the leg by his own gun early in the morning at around 4:45 AM. The incident occurred as he was getting ready to leave his home. He has since been admitted to Criticare Hospital for treatment.

Govinda suffers bullet injury at home

According to the police, they arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and seized Govinda's gun for investigation. The incident occurred around 1:45 AM. Govinda has lost a lot of blood, worsening his condition. He is currently receiving treatment at Criti Care Hospital in Andheri. Further updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.

While the police have yet to provide any information, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, shared updates about the incident in a statement to ABP. “Govinda suffered accidental injury while keeping the pistol in his almirah. The weapon fell to the ground and went off. He suffered a bullet injury just below his knee,” he said.

Govinda's daughter shares health update

Later, the actor's daughter, Tina Ahuja, told ABP that her father is stable and the operation was successful. "I am with Papa in the ICU right now. I can't talk much right now. But let me tell you that Papa's health is much better than before. Papa was operated upon after he was shot and the operation was successful. The doctors have done all the tests, the reports are also positive. Papa will remain in the ICU for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, the doctors will decide whether to keep him in the ICU or not. The doctors are continuously monitoring Papa, there is nothing to worry about."

Govinda is known for his iconic comedy films, including ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’, ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’, ‘Raja Babu’, and ‘Partner’.
