Salman Khan Gets Another Death Threat, Has 'Two Options — Pay Rs 5 Crore Or...'

Salman Khan had earlier received multiple threats to his life. The latest threat was issued by a person who claims to be jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan received yet another death threat. This threat, too, was allegedly issued on behalf of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Sources said that Mumbai Police's Traffic Control Unit received the message threatening Salman Khan on Monday evening. Police said that the message said: "This is Lawrence Bishnoi's brother. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our [Bishnoi community] temple and apologise or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,"

Police said that they came to know about this threatening message yesterday when an officer working in the traffic control room read it around midnight. The police are currently trying to trace the sender of the message.

Last week, Salman Khan was threatened with death. That message, too, was sent to the traffic control unit, following which a case was registered by the Worli police under sections 354 (2) and 308 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The suspect demanded Rs 2 crore. He said failure to pay the ransom amount would result in Salman Khan's death.

Earlier on Tuesday, October 29, the police detained an 18-year-old in Noida, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly threatening the actor. The suspect, identified as carpenter Mohammad Tayyab, had previously sent a text to the Mumbai Control Room threatening Salman Khan. Tayyab's alleged message read, "We shall not spare Salman Khan... This is your [Salman Khan's] last warning."

Noida Police said Tayyab lived in Delhi's Kardam Puri area with his uncle. During interrogation, Tayyab said he sent the text message as a "joke". However, Mumbai police have taken him into custody for further questioning as part of the investigation.

In the wake of the threats, Salman Khan's security was upgraded to Y+ security. Soon after NCP leader Baba Siddique's death, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait advised Salman Khan to apologise to the Bishnoi community at the temple for his "past mistakes".
