The new Kindle Paperwhite has 7 inch display and faster page turns

Amazon’s 12th-gen Kindle Paperwhite is an eBook reader with a 7 inch touchscreen display featuring a front light with support for brightness and color temperature adjustments.

As expected, it’s basically a modest updated to the model that Amazon’s been selling since 2011. The key differences are a slightly larger display, slightly longer battery life, and 25 percent faster page turn speeds. It’s also a tiny bit thinner than the previous generation. The new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024) is available now for $160 and up.

The standard version of the new Kindle paperwhite comes in black, jade, or raspberry color options and features 16GB of storage. The starting price is for a model with ads on the lock screen, but you can pay $20 more to get an ad-free version (you can pay that premium up front or decide to pay to remove the ads after you’ve started using the eReader).

There’s also a new Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition that sells for $200 and up and features 32GB of storage, an ambient light sensor for automatic screen brightness adjustments, and support for wireless charging, although you’ll need to buy a Kindle Charging Dock (or other compatible charger) separately.

Amazon also introduced a new Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition that basically has the same specs and features as the Paperwhite Signature Edition, but which features one key distinction: it’s Amazon’s first Kindle device with an E Ink Kaleido color display. The Kindle Colorosoft Signature Edition sells for $280.
