Reddit down as site crashes across UK and US frustrating thousands of users

Thousands of users are reporting issues with Reddit this morning with the site and app displaying an error message as they struggle to connect to its backend servers

Reddit fans have been left frustrated this morning as the platform went offline.

The aficionados of the online community have been left in the lurch with Reddit presenting a rather perplexing error message. The site simply shows a blank page with the cryptic words "no healthy upstream" Disturbance seems to have stirred at approximately 5am, as tracked by the website disturbance monitor Down Detector.

It appears that both the website and mobile application are encountering difficulties when attempting to reach their backend servers. Despite the apparent downtime experienced by a vast number of users, the official Reddit status page is currently indicating everything is operational.

Reddit has yet to make any formal acknowledgement about the glitch on its official account on X, previously known as Twitter. Reports suggesting problems are popping up from users dwelled in the UK and US alike.

The Mirror has reached out to Reddit for a statement on the matter, reports

Aggrieved social media denizens have aired their grievances over on X. A disgruntled user remarked: "What happened to Reddit? It's been down for hours."

While another expressed their conundrum: "Reddit is down. Shows you the extent of my life if I notice it's down at 4am."

Additionally, a vexed regular lamented: "Reddit is down. how am i supposed to waste time at the office? ".
