BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt was unexpectedly thrown for a loop in the most recent episode when guest Jenny Eclair voiced concern over his wellbeing.

Presenting from the iconic red sofa on Thursday morning (October 24), Stayt, alongside co-host Naga Munchetty, was engaging in light-hearted banter whilst covering the key news headlines as usual.

The atmosphere turned even more jovial as they interviewed funnywoman and author Jenny Eclair.

The 64-year-old graced the programme to talk about her latest literary offering and reflect on her career milestones. The exchange with Jenny was filled with humour, leaving both Naga and Charlie chuckling throughout, reports the Express.

However, towards the end of the segment, Jenny expressed her concern: "It's really lovely to see you both! I hope you get better because I can see you're a bit peaky."

Despite persistent coughing on air, Charlie reassured her that he was perfectly healthy, asserting: "I'm absolutely fine!"

Yet, Eclair wasn't convinced and sought confirmation from Naga, remarking: "He's peaky isn't he?" In response to the whole situation, Charlie gestured around him and quipped: "I'm just sorry you had to witness the mess!"
