The King has, after lengthy counsel from his advisors, financially disconnected from his brother Prince Andrew- plunging their relationship to an all-time low.
The Royal brothers have been at odds for some time now with the monarch exerting pressure on his sibling to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor and suggesting a move to Frogmore Cottage instead. Following relentless internal bickering, the King has taken firm action as detailed in a new book.
The individual tasked as the Keeper of the Privy Purse has been instructed to put a stop to the Duke of York's yearly personal allowance, which is understood to be around £1million. Additionally, Andrew will no longer have the expenses for his private security covered.
"The duke is no longer a financial burden on the King," a source disclosed, shedding light on the situation as per a fresh biography by the Royal author, Robert Hardman.
Reports earlier this year suggested that Charles had sent a stark warning to Andrew pertaining to his continued occupation of Royal Lodge. The 64 year old prince's stubborn noncompliance in relocating, despite prior prompts, was rumoured to have vexed Charles, reports the Mirror.

A Royal insider conveyed to the Times during the summer: "The King's kindness is not without limit and there is a very good option for Andrew to move into Frogmore Cottage, recently vacated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which also has the benefit of being within the Windsor Castle security cordon hence reducing the need for alternative round-the-clock security for Royal Lodge."
An associate of the Duke of York has suggested to the press that he may "dig in" if the current impasse persists, noting that he's already had a "stay of execution" due to recent health issues faced by Sarah Ferguson and the King.
The Mirror has reached out to Buckingham Palace and Prince Andrew for their comments on the matter.
This development follows the king and queen's tour of Australia. The Royal couple expressed their gratitude on X, stating: "As our visits to Australia and Samoa come to a close, my wife and I would like to thank both nations for the warmest of welcomes and for the countless fond memories we will carry in our hearts for many years to come.Even when we are far apart in distance, the many close connections that unite us across the globe and through our Commonwealth family have been renewed, and will remain as profound as they are enduring."
