Donald Trump wins US presidential election, Harris concedes

Defeated Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris publicly conceded to Republican Donald Trump during a speech at Howard University in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
Trump currently has 292 electoral votes, greater than the 270 needed to win the White House. Trump won the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Georgia and is likely to also win Arizona and Nevada.
Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris makes him the first former president to return to power in non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland regained the White House in the 1892 election. He's also the first convicted criminal to win the highest elected office in the United States.
Political leaders from around the world have sent messages of congratulations to the new president-elect.
Republicans also took control of the Senate, flipping seats in Ohio and West Virginia. Republicans are also likely to get control over the US House, giving Trump virtually unchecked control to pursue his legislative agenda.
