Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, tragically died aged 31 after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hours before the devastating incident, Liam had been sharing plans for his day on Snapchat with his fans.

He posted photos including his meal and mentioned his intentions to play polo later. The singer filmed himself and girlfriend Kate Cassidy at breakfast despite it being 1pm, saying, "This is the breakfast table, just enjoying breakfast and coffee even though it's 1pm."

Liam also captured moments at their friend's house, where he humorously stated they were "losers" for not getting up earlier. In the footage, he said, "Today, we ride. I think I'm going to be playing polo again, which is going to put me out of action for about six weeks. Honestly, polo, out of everything I've ever done sports-wise, not that I'm taking up polo professionally, by the way, I'm just like, I had a go for some fun."

The tragic news follows reports of police, firefighters and ambulances congregating outside the hotel where Liam fell, with officials confirming that he endured a fall of roughly 40 metres, leading to fatal injuries.

"It's so hard to do, number one. Number two, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around, or mallet, I think it's called, if you're in the know, it's polo language." He later shared another clip where he filmed himself and said: "I look like the Joker, my hair's a bit cray-cray."

In another post, Liam filmed Kate and their dog watching Jimmy Carr on TV. He then posted a shirtless photo with Kate as they posed for a mirror selfie together.

The singer admired a painting at his friend's house in another post as he revealed where he was staying. He said: "It's a lovely day here in Argentina. Yeah. It hurts a lot. It's very tough to do [play polo]."

"But we're enjoying ourselves here at our lovely friend Gon's house. Shout out, Gon, wherever Gon is. Shout out, Gon. Big bad Gon."

Liam showed himself looking at a painting of a tree and added: "I envy things like this, painting-wise. Once again, shot from the back. It's really beautiful. So yeah, that's what we're doing today."

"This was the first wheel that was ever invented," Liam said as he showed an ornament inside the home.
