Dua Lipa, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, has revealed that she had to cancel a concert due to "safety issues" with the staging. The 29-year-old star expressed her "heartbreak" over the situation.

Dua was scheduled to perform in Indonesia as part of her Radical Optimism world tour on Saturday (November 9). However, she announced on Friday (November 8) that her performance at the Indonesia Arena - Senayan in Jakarta would not proceed as planned.

She broke the news via a statement on her Instagram Story, telling fans: "I am heartbroken to share that I won't be able to perform in Jakarta this Saturday, November 9. I am there in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging."

The Brit Award winner went on to say: "I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta."

Dua concluded by assuring fans that refunds will be issued from their point of purchase and expressed her eagerness to reunite with them for singing and dancing as soon as possible, reports the Mirror.

The Radical Optimism tour, which kicked off earlier this week in Singapore, saw Dua Lipa gearing up for her third concert in Indonesia. She's set to continue her tour with a performance in the Philippines on Wednesday.

The pop sensation will then grace stages across Japan, Australia, Spain, and Belgium in the upcoming months. England awaits her arrival in June next year, starting with two nights at London's Wembley Stadium, followed by two shows in Liverpool.

Shortly after, she'll take to the stage in Dublin, Ireland, before embarking on tours across Canada and the US.

Before setting out on her global tour this month, Dua Lipa was the headline act at Glastonbury Festival in June, where she captivated audiences from the Pyramid Stage on Friday evening. She had previously expressed her excitement to fans, saying: "I have dreamt of this moment all my life. Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations."

Her Glastonbury set featured tracks like 'Houdini' and 'Illusion' from her latest album 'Radical Optimism', which is also the namesake of her current tour. Released in May, the album soared to the top of the Official Albums Chart in the UK and includes hit singles 'Training Season' and 'These Walls'.
