BBC Strictly Come Dancing star 'set to leave show for good' after 'being thrust into spotlight'
by Peter Hennessy, James Rodger · NottinghamshireLiveWynne Evans is the bookies' tip for the next contestant to be voted off this year's Strictly Come Dancing, with betideas.com placing him at 9/4 to leave this Sunday. The Welsh singer is set to return to the BBC dance floor, with odds slightly better than the current favourite for elimination, Shayne Ward, who stands at 7/4.
Despite being one of the pre-series favourites, Sam Quek is third in the elimination market at 4/1, closely followed by JB Gill at 6/1. Lee Astley from betideas.com commented: "Wynne Evans has certainly been in the Strictly spotlight for the past couple of weeks but we reckon this weekend's show could be the Welsh singer's last dance in the series."
"Evans is 9/4 to be the next contestant to leave the programme, putting him only narrowly behind Shayne Ward in the betting."
After a seemingly awkward moment on-air with his dance partner Katya Jones, which they later explained as an inside joke, the pair are now preparing for their next performance—a Rumba to Dame Shirley Bassey's 'This is My Life' during the show's Icons week.
Discussing the upcoming dance on 'It Takes Two', Wynne expressed his concerns: "Rumba I'm enjoying but I don't know if I'm doing it right. I've got concerns about the hips. The hips, the hips, the hips.", reports Birmingham Live.
Katya commented: "The hips are getting looser. Wynne's got beautifully shaped long legs so if we can put the legs with the hips, it'll be perfection. Can we get there by Saturday, who knows? " Wynne also shared his feelings about the competition during an Instagram Q&A session. The Welsh singer, known for being the face of the GoCompare adverts, admitted: "I don't know. I don't look at what's coming up. I just have to focus on getting through this week. I'm now the oldest and the fattest, so the fact I've made it this far is incredible."
"Just focus on this week and getting through this week and then we'll see if I'm there next week. There's a lot of hips in the rumba, I may have actually discovered where my hips are," he added.
