Strictly's Wynne Evans makes cheeky demand to 'level playing field' for pro dancers

by · NottinghamshireLive

BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans shared a humorous idea for making the competition fairer on It Takes Two. When Fleur East asked about the exhaustion of their Quickstep routine, Wynne joked: "I am a fat man going fast around the floor, right? ".

He added with a chuckle: "I've got this theory, that all the pro dancers, like Jockeys, should be wearing weights, to make them the same weight as me. Then the competition would be fair! ". The routine, which earned them 33 points and fifth place on the leaderboard, was marked by comedic mishaps.

During the dress rehearsal, an unplanned incident left them both in stitches. Katya revealed: "I know we wanted things to go wrong, but they didn't go wrong, everything went wrong wrong! ".

Wynne continued, laughing: "It was like a disaster. Honestly, the door handle was meant to come off in my hand. We thought it looked a bit loose so they stuck it extra hard. Then I pulled it-". Katya interrupted, sharing that she witnessed the entire door frame nearly collapse on Wynne, saying: "It was hilarious! ".

Wynne jokingly admitted, "It wasn't hilarious, I mean it was terrifying! " Discussing the chaotic rehearsals with Fleur, he shared how not a single toilet roll stuck to his shoes as intended. He added, "Everything went wrong! Even the bird didn't poo on me, It was a disaster.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Katya, his dance partner, lavished praise on him despite a rocky dress rehearsal, saying: "You surprise me every Saturday whilst I'm dancing. I'm going, 'What is going on? ! ' You are two times faster, you are three times lighter, I don't know how."

Wynne and Katya also revealed that their upcoming Salsa routine for the show's Halloween week will be performed to Jamiroquai's 'Canned Heat', hinting at some thrilling lifts.

Although Wynne is looking forward to dazzling the audience during Halloween week, Paul Merson had to say goodbye to the competition last weekend after facing JB Gill in the dance-off.
