BBC star Yung Filly arrested and charged with rape

The British rapper and YouTuber allegedly assaulted a woman in her 20s

Yung Filly, a YouTuber and rapper, has been arrested over allegations of raping a woman. The British internet star, who has hosted BBC shows, participated in the celebrity edition of Bake Off, and played in Soccer Aid, was arrested in Brisbane, Australia on Tuesday (October 8) before being transferred to Perth.

The 29-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her twenties at his hotel in Perth on September 28. He faces charges including four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault, and one count of impeding a person's breathing by applying pressure to the neck.

Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, allegedly assaulted the woman after performing at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys, Perth. His bail application was adjourned when he appeared at Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday, reports the Daily Star.

The comedian rose to fame as part of the popular YouTube group Beta Squad and has collaborated with the Sidemen, KSI's internet collective. He has presented BBC Three shows Hot Property, Don't Scream, and Yung Filly's Celeb Lock-In.

He also featured on Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer and took part in Soccer Aid in 2020. Filly remains in custody and had performed at the Havana Nightclub on the Gold Coast two days prior to his arres.
