Jammu, Sep 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is arriving tomorrow on a two-day visit to Jammu region to bolster Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign in the second phase of J&K assembly elections.

This is the second time that Shah is following Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a campaign trail in the Jammu region.

   

Shah is scheduled to address a string of rallies in twin border districts of Rajouri-Poonch and Jammu.

Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts will go to polls in the second phase on September 25.

In Jammu, he will address an election rally in Akhnoor on September 21 while in twin border districts Rajouri-Poonch, Mendhar and Thannamandi will be the places where the Union Home Minister will address rallies to seek support for BJP candidates on September 20.

Shah addressed three election rallies in Ramban, Padder and Ramban on September 16, two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed a rally in Doda (on September 14) in the first phase.

Earlier, Shah made a two-day visit i.e., September 6 and 7, to Jammu.

On September 6, he released the party’s manifesto and held deliberations with the party leaders strategising for J&K assembly elections in the evening.

On September 7, he addressed a large convention of party workers in Jammu city.

Besides, the Union Home Minister, party’s national president and the  Union Minister for Health J P Nadda is also scheduled to visit Jammu on September 20.

Union Minister and J&K Election In-charge G Kishan Reddy had stated that the party president Nadda would visit Jammu to give further boost to the party campaign. “It is very likely that our party president will hold a road show in Jammu to galvanise party rank and file,” he had said.
